Sustainability

Sustainable luxury, to us, is not a certification badge or a capsule collection. It is a way of deciding what to make, how much of it, and from what. Fewer pieces. Better materials. Made by people who are paid to take their time.

Natural fibres, by principle

We build our collections around natural fibres: wool, cashmere, silk, cotton and linen. Natural fibres are renewable, breathable and biodegradable at the end of their life. They regulate temperature, resist odour, and — unlike synthetics — do not shed plastic microfibres into the water every time they are washed. They also age beautifully, which is the quietest form of sustainability there is: a garment you want to keep wearing.

Responsibly sourced

Our fabrics come from Italian mills, and our knitwear is made from yarns spun in Italy. Responsible sourcing means asking where a fibre comes from and how it was produced — the welfare of the animals, the management of the land, the treatment of the people who spin and dye it — and choosing partners who can answer. We will only ever describe our materials in words we can stand behind.

Craftsmanship over quantity

The fashion industry’s biggest environmental problem is volume: garments made faster and cheaper than anyone can wear them. Our answer is to make less. Small seasonal collections, produced in skilled workshops in Italy and Portugal, designed to sell through rather than to be discounted and discarded. Read more about how our garments are made.

Designed to endure

The most sustainable garment is the one you already own and still love. So we design without logos or trend-driven details, in silhouettes that will look right in five years. We use fabrics with the weight to hold their shape, and construction that can be repaired. Every piece comes with care guidance, and we will always tell you how to look after it rather than replace it.

Honesty first

We are a young label, and we would rather tell you exactly what we know than make promises we cannot yet keep. As we grow we will publish more about our mills, our yarns and our workshops. Until then, if you have a question about any material or process, ask us — we will answer plainly.
